Jeannette "Jan" (Gervais) Picard

Jeannette “Jan” Picard, 93, of Wakefield, RI passed away peacefully on April 8, 2024. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Anna (Marcet) Gervais. She was the loving wife for 69 years of the late Henry “Red” Picard.

She was a loving and devoted mother and wife who she spent many years at home raising her children. Once her children were older, she began working at the former Woonsocket Mill and later worked as a pharmacy supervisor for CVS for more than 15 years before retiring in 1986.

She enjoyed gardening, reading and traveling. She was a member of the Woonsocket Health and Fitness Club for 25 years.

She is survived by her children; Russell and his wife Donna of Woonsocket and Sharon Pena of Wakefield. She also leaves behind one grandson, Joe Pena and his wife Lila.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Picard, her son-in-law, Ramon” Ray” Pena and her siblings, Florence Cabana, Rita Provencal, Constance Bousquet and Roger Gervais.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Egidio DiPardo & Sons Funeral Home, 75 Harris Avenue, Woonsocket, RI.

The family will welcome guests on April 16, 2024, from 9:30  to 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 1200 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket, RI. followed with a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery, 310 Wrentham Rd., Bellingham, MA.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Jeannette to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
